Has anyone had any freezing issues with XP, or is it because I don't have wireless yet that the whole system hangs sometimes with dialup? I think it's internet-related.

In any event I'm afraid this cannot be good for the battery, which is only a 12 cell & must be allowed to run down to powerlessness so that I can reboot.

? Gurus please help me.

- Goatweed - 04-26-2004

I think it's most likely a scuzzi* problem.

you can't reboot unless your computer runs out of power?

- Goatweed - 04-26-2004

I didn't get that either, until I realized who posted it.

It's all the porn spyware on your system reporting back to Bill Gates what a filthy whore you really are.

- Black Lazerus - 04-26-2004

you don't need spyware for that.

- Keyser Soze - 04-26-2004

you dont need wireless to have a high speed connection you dolt.

- Paper Boy - 04-26-2004

if you take the battery out, it will cut power to the computer allowing you to reboot.

- AbeSapien - 04-26-2004

I guess you really arent that better than us after all, are ya?

- Keyser Soze - 04-26-2004

- Black Lazerus - 04-26-2004

he had a stroke from reading her problem

- Keyser Soze - 04-26-2004

that and chicken wings

No, reboot is NOT possible until the battery drains. I was afraid to simply pop the battery out, and didn't know whether that was a good idea or not.

The reset button did nothing. Power button ditto.

Power could not be cut in any way short of pulling the battery. You can tell me it's stupid all yoiu like., I didn't want to cause any more problems, because I have no idea what might be wrong. If you think that makes me stupid, you may fuck off.

Thanks for the help. I don't HAVE a high-speed connection possible. This means I do not have broadband OR cable. I never said I thought wireless was the only possible faster connection, fucknuts. I said I have inactive wireless and a shit ass connection with dialup.

Until the wireless account activated I've had to use dialup.

What a waste of time trying to get a little assistance from people I know know better than me what this could be.

You can all fuck yourselves. Don't know why I thought I'd find any help here. Meanwhile, the fucking problem gets worse and the whole system freezes 3 or 4 times a day. Dell can take the fucking piece of shit back. Thanks for the recommendation of Dell, Geniuses! This is the 3rd hard drive they'll have had to replace. I'm getting my cash back.

Meanwhile, please burn in hell.

Yeah, we dont know why you posted either. Maybe you should stop posting altogether?

You're a fucking moron.

you can pop the battery out, it wont hurt the battery. Doing it like this for a while will probably cause something on your mainboard to go nutty though.

Are you sure it's internet related? Does it lockup when you're NOT online?

It sounds to me like something is running and causing you to lockup - it could be a shitty OS install, it could be spyware, it could be a faulty drive. Call Dell, have them replace the whole machine for you.

Now that you explained it with more detail than "I dont have wireless, I think it's my dialup", you got a better answer.

that indian help guy is going to have a hell of a time arguing with her when he asks her if she tried rebooting

- Black Lazerus - 04-27-2004

we should just leave it at "she's a moron" and go on with her lives.

Maybe we should go on with our lives instead of her lives.
