- GonzoStyle - 10-09-2006 you still gotta score some runs. Naturally the tigers proved as always, post season play is all about the pitching. It's no fair at all for Torre to catch any blame for this, this is cashmans fault if it is anyones. It's not torres fault for having no pitching and for the big time players choking. Everyone was so pumped up about the line up, they forgot that this teams ace is a chink who can't strike out shit and also no middle relief to speak of. Naturally the game randy pitched was close, at 5-4 so they did score some runs atleast but then again they had mr. 5.00 era on the mound. There needs to be a massive overhaul and it should start with the pitching, not Torre. Torre has gotten this team to the post season every single year, he's won it 4 times but he won it with a dominant pitching staff. Wang is not a dominant pitching staff, though he is all they got. - HedCold - 10-09-2006 the game johnson pitched they lost 6-0 mussina pitched the 5-4 game - GonzoStyle - 10-09-2006 oh my bad. Johnson is an obvious choice to go, mussina not as much cause he can still pitch, he's not an ace but he's better than most crap out there. But moose is still closing in on 40 at this point. Pavano was a brilliant move, as was wright. With Pavano atleast if the gamble paid off, it coulda been good. With wright, I had no clue what the fuck they were thinking, a moron coulda seen that was a bad signing, even keyser. - Goatweed - 10-09-2006 they need to shift the balance from long-ball hitters to pitchers, they were supposed to have done that over the last offseason but decided to keep on the 'swing for the fences' plan when seemingly they couldn't get any decent pitching and were stuck with what they had. I don't think Torre deserves to get the axe but, in life, not everything is fair and it's not like if it happened to him it would be a first - ESPECIALLY on the Yankees. - GonzoStyle - 10-09-2006 While Pinella is entertaining, he is nowhere near the manager Torre is, for NY atleast. - HedCold - 10-10-2006 i heard that pinella and arod have a real good relationship - faceman802 - 10-10-2006 BRING BACK BOBBY V!!!!!!!!!!! - Keyser Soze - 10-10-2006 what about joey g? |
