- kindred - 05-01-2002 Quote:i rule at teh galaga So do I, love that game. I also am addicted to the game where you drive the 18-wheeler, I can't remember the name of it. You sit there with a huge steering wheel trying to catch up to your rival 18-wheeler.... - Arthur Dent - 05-02-2002 There's a "Fist of the North Star" game where these six pads will randomly flip out and light up. You have to punch each one as it lights up and the opponent on the screen responds. After a while, your do a "finishing move" by hitting a lot of times really fast and the guy starts inflating in different places before bursting like a balloon, just like in the cartoon. The arcade near the London Eye has coin op bowling. The nice thing is you don't need bowling shoes. The lanes are a little shorter (I think) and they only have 10lb balls. And you can't use the same one every time. The machine only releases one new ball at a time, with 3 or 4 on the return to choose from. But still fun. I broke 100, so I felt good. :bouncer: They also have a shooting range game. It's on a balcony with the targets hanging form the ceiling at different distances from really close to the other side of the arcade. You play against up to 3 other people to see who can bulls-eye 12 randomly lighted targets first. - IkeaBoy - 05-02-2002 Early life- I used to play that Star Wars game you sat in and the effects were just like those in the X-wing computer screen. LAter I had the classic Simpsons arcade game where you had to rescue maggie whihc was during the golden age of my generation's arcade. Then there was the majors like SF2 & MK. My all time favorite of course is Stargate Defender. Edited By IkeaBoy on May 02 2002 at 4:47 - The Sleeper - 05-05-2002 I'm gonna own the Gauntlet arcade game when I'm rich, that game was the shit. - Weird NJ - 05-23-2002 Quote:Don't know if it's in the US arcades, but they've got this game over here that uses a motion sensor system to tell where you are. It's a cop shooting game where you have to physically duck or dodge left and right when the bad guys shoot at you. Looks like fun, but people just look stupid playing it. I played that one last weekend, it's "911" something or other. Good game, but after playin it for 10 minutes my knees were shot. The best game, besides Simpson's pinball, was a game at a Grand Rapids airport. Star Wars first person where you sit in front of a projection screen with a joystick and fight with a lightsaber. I beat the game on 2 quarters. - Arthur Dent - 05-24-2002 I beat the Star Wars game in Disney. They've got this great arcade in Down Town Disney where you pay $20 to get in and get to play everything inside by pushing a green button. No quarters. And they have a rollercoaster simulator where you design it on a computer and then "ride" it in a capsule that rolls 360 in every direction.:thumbs-up: - ftard - 06-12-2002 I love south park pinball, and theres a cool luge game where you sit down and move from side to side. - Keyser Soze - 06-12-2002 i like the luge game too. the snowboarding and skateboarding games where you actually stand on the board are pretty cool as well. |
