Anytime pal.

- The Sleeper - 12-18-2002

MEMENTO CAME OUT IN 2001

- Arpikarhu - 12-18-2002

:crackhead:

- GonzoStyle - 12-18-2002

that settles that I guess.

- Arpikarhu - 12-18-2002

tenenbaums wins!!

- GonzoStyle - 12-18-2002

So far Spider-Man is actually winning only you voted for Tennenbaums.

- Goatweed - 12-18-2002

Tenenbaums would be a write in for me also, that movie was great.

I'm gonna go with LOTR even though I haven't seen it yet - I know it's gonna be the best movie I've seen this year.

Ep. II was good, better than I, but I don't think it's phenomenal - I don't think the original trilogy is phenomenal. Put Trek against Lucas and Trek wins every time as far as I'm concerned.

Spidey was good, but it didn't surprise me - I actually saw what I expected to see. That's not a bad thing, I just wasn't blown away by it.

I didn't see any of the other ones, but how the fuck did MIB II make it on the list??????

- Hybrid - 12-18-2002

trek is lame

- Teenweek - 12-18-2002

From movies I have seen, Minority Report and Insomnia were favorites for the year. Gonzo, rent Minority Report it will blow you away. Even though I have not seen it I am sure Two Towers will be the best film of the year.

- LyricalGomez - 12-18-2002

The royal tenenbaums came out in 2001 too, so did LotR, so both are ineligible.

Minority Report, Minority Report, Minority Report....Any of you who missed this in the theatres are not going to get the full experience of this movie. Not only were the visuals and special effects amazing, they were based around a great movie, and integrated well into the movie rather than stick out like a sore thumb....Minority Report can be compared to Blade Runner, because it depicts what could be a very possible future for us, but it also raises a major ethical question that my friend and I still discuss from time to time.

To each his own.

edit* nevermind, sounded childish, sry.

I've been hearing a lot about Minority Report recently on a DVD board that I hang on, and I think I'm gonna rent it - for whatever reason, I didn't bother to see it when it was out in theatrers, probably because Tom Cruise is in it.

i usually hate tom cruise movies too but this movie was incredible. The whole movie is incredible and really makes you think.

- Goatweed - 12-18-2002

I'm not a huge Cruise fan either, I thought the last time he was good was Mission Impossible (the sequel wasn't great, it was more macho than cerebral, IMO) and anything he's done since has pretty much sucked.

I'll rent it or see it on PPV, whichever comes first. Right now the only movie on my list to see is LOTR :-D

- Buttmunch - 12-18-2002

This poll is racially biased.

Having said that, fuck you all, Road to Perdition should have been on the fucking list, along with My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

I hate to, gulp, agree with Arpi, but you guys have to look at something that cost less than 500 million to make.

- GonzoStyle - 12-18-2002

Quote:along with My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Calm down their salad tosser, the reason I put up said movies was cause they were in fact yes the big movies of the year but also you have the right to write in your own choice. You honestly think I believe bourne identity or MIIB are close to movies of the year? There are 10 movies I could run down now that probably no one heard of that are deserving of winning I named one in my original post which in my opinion is the film of the year.

As far as greek wedding there was no way I was typing that one on the list. Still if you feel that is the best movie you saw this year feel free, spider-man may have cost a lot but I still feel it was a very good movie.

About Schmidt is still my choice for film of the year but once again I put it on and I guarantee it gets no votes, so I wrote it in.

- LyricalGomez - 12-18-2002

Are you trying to convince me that Road to Perdition was a low-budget movie?

Road to Perdition dragged on and on, I nearly fell asleep several times.

I stick by my choice, Minority Report was, in my opinion, the best movie of the year.

- GonzoStyle - 12-18-2002

I'm gonna buy the minority report dvd tonight you guys got me psyched, as for LOTR I meant the new one coming out this week. So for the groups goin to see it on the weekend hold off your vote.

I heard from a bunch of people minority report sucked, I actually like tom cruise in certain roles. When he is adamant about a role he will pull it off to a T, I actually liked him in Vanilla Sky even.

- LyricalGomez - 12-18-2002

One Hour Photo came Damn close to being my write-in choice, but it was too lagging at times, and while it featured arguably the best acting performance of the year, we are talking about movies as the total package.

- Buttmunch - 12-18-2002

Mea Culpa. You are right. I forgot about all those special effects in Road to Perdition. Must have cost into the thousands of dollars. I'm not talking how much the actors got paid.

I'm not saying the other movies, such as Spider Man weren't good, I'm just saying that there were others that, to me, were more powerful, or more funny, or more imaginative.

Oh, by the way, when did Crossroads come out. I'm surprised some of you haven't mentioned that.

- LyricalGomez - 12-18-2002

Without actors Road to Perdition would not have existed, so yes it does factor into the budget and cost of a movie
