And discontent is someone who has a restless longing for better circumstances. So yes, I resembled that description at one time. Good observation.

No, I think that you make yourself the punching bag by the comments you make in rebuttle. It's fine, you should stick up for him if you want. No one faults you for that. But, don't expect people not to respond back to you.

I for one completely oppose refusing anyone membership here for those kinds of reasons. Differences of opinion are exactly what every board needs. Do you want a community of yes men (EDIT "and women" Wink ) and people who all agree with everything each other says? How boring would that be?

Nonono, not at all. What I meant by that was that he most likely wouldn't have been invited in the first place. But again, I don't know for sure because the final decision about membership right now lies with Sean.

I agree 100% about disagreements being good, but what I was getting at was why bring someone here just to bash them, when you KNOW thats all that will happen?

just as a general note:

I see teh funny...but also, keep aware that some here are a part of OTL, some here have worked hard on OTL...and some don't like being lumped into some hard feelings (or perceived hard feelings) towards a site's owner...a site some don't even belong to anymore. Reason I made wackbag comment was the several anti-otl/oa stuff i see, where wackbag become a constant oa board bash...don't like the site, fine. but, keep in mind some here do, and choose to be a part of it...and merely are here to enjoy this fine site and post happily without feeling like they are the enemy.

WEll Gooch, I totally understand your joke, and I for one view NO ONE here as the enemy. Every member here has been invited.

This thread was not a bash on OTL, and I'm sorry if people saw it that way. The thing I was poking fun at here was that Froy and company, are shoving OTL down peoples throats. This thread was NOT about how things are run on oa.com, and it was NOT about bashing OTL as a website, but more of a jab at their marketing strategy.

I don't see anyone here as the enemy and I appreciate anyone who contributes, especially if they offer an opinion that differs from my own. Thats the very thing that makes an exchange like this worthwhile.

There are no hard feelings, just a difference of opinion, which I think should be freely discussed. I really hope this place doesn't go the nicey nice route and restrict free expression and opinion. We all know where that led others before us.

We are all discontents, otherwise we wouldn't be here.

This forum offers what the others could not and I hope it stays that way and continues to expand on that ideal.
