These things happen, I am more excited by the fact mussina came through when it counted and picthed 6 perfect innings. It was upsetting that it then became a game but oh well, the yanks weren't even supposed to win against schilling and he folded.

Galt Wrote:It's definitely not a good thing that the sox lost, and definitely like that that Yanks win tonight. Essentially, the Sox changes disappeared in the 3rd inning.

The fact that the yanks bullpen made it a game however, can't be a good sign for them.
holy shit! how could you even understand what I was saying?

I been posting on the boards over 4 and a half years, I've mastered reading retard.

Lofton is a sick bunter.

Pedro is pitching a hell of a game after that fairly weak first inning. If Lieber can keep the lead into the 7th or 8th I'll be real happy.

Except for the fact that the Red Sox seem to have the Yankee bullpen's number.

- HollywoodJewMoses - 10-14-2004

good game.

redsox hitters didnt battle leiber very well.

yankees made pedro work.

back to boston.

- GonzoStyle - 10-14-2004

that yankee pitching sure does suck, eh?

- HollywoodJewMoses - 10-14-2004

Leiber was lights out tonight. Moose was even better last night.

both have been very good ballgames.

- GonzoStyle - 10-14-2004

Hopefully Kevin Brown punched the wall out of excitement.

- Bloody Anus - 10-14-2004

Boston is the best fastball hitting team in baseball. Mussina and Lieber are not fastball pitchers. If Brown pitches like he should and not like he did last time in Boston, it will be 3-0.

If Millar sees a single fastball this series it will probably be from Vazquez. He and Nixon will flip flop in the order for game 3.

Quote:Lofton is a sick bunter.
I was thinking Sierra would be DH'ing.. there haven't been any in the series, but Jeter stole 2 bases in game 2, and they've only hit 2 homers on their 13 runs (one by Lofton, though he has had some terrible AB'S)

After the 8th inning of game 1 it was apparent Heredia will not be a factor at all in this series. Even if they get by Boston I still think this will be a big turning point at some point down the line. If they play St. Louis, Gordon will need to pitch to Jim Edmonds, who has pounded him. Houston has no left-handed threats, but ideally you'd like to turn Berkman and Beltran around.

Regardless of what happens this year, B.J. Ryan will be a Yankee next year, guaranteed.

it took you this long in the season to realize that.

Quote:Tell me this: Would you give better odds that the Red Sox leave NY up 2-0 with Schilling and Pedro going against Mussina and Lieber or down 2-0?

Do you think that it's even possible that the Sox won't take at least one in NY and go to Boston. Then Boston has three games at home with the likelyhood of Schilling and Pedro pitching games 4 and 5?

yes, because the fact that Schilling tore his tendon was widely known.

I said you didn't know anything because you someone seemed it correct to say that the Yankees had a deeper lineup, which just shows absolutely zero knowledge of either team.

man, I've been doing that a lot lately.

I mean he said the Yankees had a deeper lineup than the Red Sox. It's not true.

Boston: 0. Yankees: 2.

That's really all that matters. A sample size of 162 is a little more telling of the quality of players. Not a sample of two games. The Yankees are going to probably win, sure. I conceded that halfway through the first game. Especially without the best pitcher in baseball, it will take a miracle for the Sox to win this series.

But there is not a soul who knows anything about baseball that would say that the Yankees bench of: Flaherty, Crosby, Clark, and Erique Wilson is better than Dave Roberts, Gabe Kapler, Doug Makewietz, and Mirabelli.

"The bench" has next to nothing to do with who is going to win the series, but you cited that as a main reason why the Yankees would be the Red Sox, it it just showed that you didn't have a clue about either team.

- Arpikarhu - 10-14-2004

i never used the word bench nor talked about the bench. dont make things up just because you have been made to look the fool.

- crx girl - 10-14-2004

i hope it goes to 7, i'd forgotten what it was like to make money

- GonzoStyle - 10-14-2004
