- GonzoStyle - 06-10-2005 I was discussing gangs of new york with a couple people and how basically the saving grace of the film was Lewis performance as Bill The Butcher. I believe that Daniel Day-Lewis gave one of the greatest performances in movie history and created one of the best villians ever. So the discussion evolved into other great villians, I came up with my top 20. I excluded any animals like the shark in jaws or machines like Hal from 2001, though they rank up there. Also I excluded any horror/slasher film characters cause they'd take up too much of the list cause you have to mention them since they are true villians. You can include anyone you want though. I wanted to keep it more at a dramatic performance of a villian. I made one exception though and that was with Darth Vader, though there really is no acting on his part especially with the mask and suit, the mere presence and storyline make him so amazing. In no order: Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker - Star Wars William "Bill The Butcher" Cutting - Gangs Of NY Antonio Salieri - Amadeus Hannibal Lecter - Silence Of The Lambs Alonzo Harris - Training Day Michael Corleone - Godfather Part 2 Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver Mr. Blonde - Resevoir Dogs Cody Jarret - White Heat Gary Oldman(forgot his characters name) - The Professional Joker (Nicholson) - Batman James Caan - The Theif John Doe - Se7en Alan Rickman - Die Hard Riddick - Pitch Black Emperor Commodus - Gladiator Laurence Olivier - Marathon Man Amon Goeth - Schindlers List Tony Montana - Scarface Richard Gere - Internal Affairs - Buttmunch - 06-10-2005 The Red Baron (Snoopy's nemesis) - Peanuts - Charles Schultz - Buttmunch - 06-10-2005 The Grinch - The Grinch who stole Christmas - Dr. Seuss - Buttmunch - 06-10-2005 Francis - The bike thief - Pee Wee's Big Adventure - diceisgod - 06-10-2005 Buttmunch - Cold Day in Hell - Keyser Soze - 06-10-2005 DIG - OA.com - Buttmunch - 06-10-2005 Keyser Soze - Radio Uncensored - The Sleeper - 06-10-2005 Quote:Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver villian?! - GonzoStyle - 06-11-2005 The Sleeper Wrote:He's no heroQuote:Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver - Gooch - 06-11-2005 The Sleeper Wrote:ummm...yeah.Quote:Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver - The Sleeper - 06-11-2005 Gonzo Wrote:i don't think he's a hero or a villian, he's just a morally ambiguous character. why you gotta classify? The Sleeper Wrote:He's no heroQuote:Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver - IrishAlkey - 06-11-2005 I'm drunk. - crx girl - 06-11-2005 i just saw gangs the other day for the first time, liked the movie but much better was the docu on the real gangs. anywy, i don't know what a villian is - diceisgod - 06-11-2005 you've never been to Aruba - Arpikarhu - 06-11-2005 ooooh! comedy fresh off the news! - diceisgod - 06-11-2005 you're just jealous of my superior intellect and ungangly fingers - Keyser Soze - 06-11-2005 according to mtv its ben stiller - dodgeball - jewdown - 06-11-2005 and his evil eggs - drusilla - 06-11-2005 i think he just might have deserved "most annoying", not best villian - Mad - 06-11-2005 The Sleeper Wrote:So wouldn't Travis be an anti-hero?Gonzo Wrote:i don't think he's a hero or a villian, he's just a morally ambiguous character. why you gotta classify? The Sleeper Wrote:He's no heroQuote:Travis Bickle - Taxi Driver |
