In Amsterdam it's $75-$100 for Playmate quality women since it's safe and legal (though I still couldn't bring myself to pay for it)

The guy is paying way too much for, in my mind, the peace of mind that was to come from discreet service. How did they figure out it was him, his phone? He should have been like Matt Damon in The Departed, with another sim card to switch out so that they can't trace the call, and he should have had a fucking voice disguiser and worn a zorro mask the entire time. If I am the governor of the second most important state in the union, and I make that money, so much that I can manage to give a chick 5g, these are the measures I would go to. I would have delegated a super secret cabinet level position the task of making sure indiscretions are taken care of without any chance of getting caught. If he really was smart, he should have been like Paulie in Goodfellas, no phones whatsoever, just have Ray Liotta and Bobby D take care of the loose ends.

I believe that the prostitution ring came down because of him not the other way around.
Banker suspected him of Smurfing,
Feds thought it was evidence enough to pursue and monitor him
Prostitute comes to do and gets handed a wad of cash.
In Spitzer's case (like Martha Stewart), it's the attempt of concealment that is the issue, not the use of a prostitute.
and it's been going on for years, it seems.
