One day, I heard the word "Norbert" about 20 different times, and I started wondering about the origin of it. It was like there was some conspiracy, and everyone was in on it, but me.

Ever have that happen where you hear the same word/phrase/name several times and have no clue what or whom it refers to?

Anyone know what Norbert is? I assume it's a common first name, but I'm really not sure.

A character from Dilbert?

I know a Norbert. The funny thing is that his brother's name is Ray.

- Maynard - 05-06-2002

Norbert? I've never heard it before.

Qbert, Dilbert, Norman, Norad, Norba, Nurnberg, Gobot.

All thing's I've heard of in the past. Norbert is not one of them. What did you hear it in reference to k1d?

- Kid Afrika - 05-06-2002

It was the name of characters in a few movies and TV shows I saw this particular day, about 10 years ago. Ya know, now that I think of it, I was trippin' my face off that day. The point was that I heard the name several times, from different sources and didn't know what it was, moreso than finding out what/who Norbert is.

I just find it odd when you hear references to the same thing/word in different places in one day. I guess it's kind of a conspiracy theory type of thing, but I find it odd.

Wasn't Norbert the name of the Dragon in the first Harry Potter book?

Not that I read it, I just heard my nephew talking about it.......hey look over there.....

Some names just sound silly to me, Bert, Graham, Stewart, Max. I always find it strange when a child has an old sounding name like Ingrid, Ruth, or Gertrude.

- Luna - 05-06-2002

I think you are forgetting "Bertha", Keyser.
Oh...and Mona.

OMG, k1d isn't just being a paranoid black man. It really IS a conspiracy.

My friend named his daughter Isabella. It's a pretty name, but not really up to date for a 2 year old girl. (don't even think about it SNUKA)

Does anyone have some really hippy sounding names like Moon Unit and Dweezil in their families?

- Maynard - 05-06-2002

It's funny, because I've heard of people named really hippy things, bet never known ANYONE that actually had those names.

- Kid Afrika - 05-06-2002

Rayvanne, Shyanne, and Grayson. I still want to strangle my sister for doing that to her kids.

Oh and once, I dated a girl named January Peace (Last name withheld).

I like that alot better than all those names with the ' in them. What the fuck is that all about? Yeah yeah, it's a black thing, I wouldnt understand. But frankly I just think it's stupid.

I knew a girl who's mother wanted to name her after the Shakespeare character Portia, but spelled like the car. She thought that was the way you spelled it! True story! Ha ha.

- Luna - 05-06-2002

I used to work with a girl named Silky Wedding.
What the hell where her parents thinking? Undecided

- Hey Ladi - 05-06-2002
