Sounds like you might have GMT or something even more annoying. - Ronin - 10-17-2002 Cool, now i could introduce my product! I wrote this at work when I was bored. It automates the net send on NT. With my version, you can turn off the messenging so you don't receive any. Plus you can send it repeated times. Plus, it has a CC and BCC options. It is very nice. :-) I actually got it on download.com but the link on there is old. This is the new version. No install. Just put it on your hard drive, and run the simple executable. Don't worry, i am not intelligent enough to write viruses. Download.com article The Messenger - Cunk - 10-17-2002 Step 1: Get yerself a firewall. Step 2: Disable the messenger service. Step 3: Get drunk on Tullamore Dew. - Ronin - 10-19-2002 if you just want to turn off the messenger, just type "net stop messenger" on the command line. Just thought I would write that out there for the computer impaired people. - Rookie - 10-19-2002 I think those same computer impaired people would say, "Where is the command line?" :burnfucker: - Ronin - 10-19-2002 ehhh, let'em struggle.. they deserve to be slammed with messages.. - FollowThisLogic - 10-27-2002 Quote:if you just want to turn off the messenger, just type "net stop messenger" on the command line. When they said "Windows Messenger" in the article, they misspoke. "Windows Messenger" is that stupid MSN client that comes with XP. The "Messenger Service" is what they were talking about. This service is only useful in a corporate network, so the administrator can send out mass messages to users....... on a home system, you don't need it to be running. - FNMoron - 10-27-2002 whoa... what a bunch of geeks - FollowThisLogic - 10-28-2002 Quote:whoa... what a bunch of geeks Quote:Über Geek ZoneDuh. :moonie: |
