- Keyser Soze - 01-20-2003 I will most likely just flip to the Golden Globes during the Raider/Titans commercials but I am interested in seeing who will win in some pretty competitive categories this year. In Ron and Fez fashion, I will pick who I WANT to win and who I think WILL win. Best dramatic film About Schmidt Gangs of New York The Pianist The Hours The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers WANT: Gangs Of New York, Daniel Day Lewis was a bad motherfucker in this movie. The ending was rushed and I must admit I haven't even seen the other ones so Gangs wins by default. WILL: I could see The Hours winning because its getting so much buzz. However Gangs is a classic hollywood style epic that usually wins these awards. I'd have to stick with Gangs again here. Best dramatic actress Salma Hayek - Frida Nicole Kidman - The Hours Julianne Moore - Far From Heaven Meryl Streep - The Hours Diane Lane - Unfaithful WANT: Salma Hayek, just cause shes hot and shes dating one of my favorite actors, Ed Norton. WILL: Meryl Streep, she always seems to win and the critics seem to have a hard on for Hours right now. Best dramatic actor Adrian Brody - The Pianist Michael Caine - The Quiet American Daniel Day Lewis - Gangs of New York Leonardo DiCaprio - Catch Me If You Can Jack Nicholson - About Schmidt WANT: Daniel Day Lewis. Just go see it and theres nothing else that needs to be said. He fucking owns. WILL: Daniel Day Lewis, or they're retarded. Although I totally could see Jack winning. Best director Spike Jonze - Adaptation Peter Jackson - The Two Towers Stephen Daldry - The Hours Rob Marshall - Chicago Alexander Payne - About Schmidt Martin Scorsese - Gangs of New York WANT: Scorsese. He's been snubbed too many times. WILL: Rob Marshall, cause they always snub Scorcese. WON: Martin Scorsese - Gangs Of New York Best screenplay Charlie Kaufman - Adaptation Bill Condon - Chicago David Hare - The Hours Todd Haynes - Far From Heaven Payne and Jim Taylor - About Schmidt WANT: Adaption, its harder to write weird shit like this. WILL: The Hours. Cause they won't give it the best picture and this is sort of like the consolation prize. WON: Payne and Jim Taylor - About Schmidt Best actress musical or comedy Maggie Gyllenhaal - Secretary Goldie Hawn - The Banger Sisters Nia Vardalos - My Big Fat Greek Wedding Renee Zellweger - Chicago Catherine Zeta Jones - Chicago WANT: Nia Vardalos. Shes seems like shes outside the Hollywood loop and its nice to see people like that win. WILL: Renee Zellweger. Chicago is going to clean up, I wouldn't be caught dead seeing this but apparently its spectacular or something. Whatever. I might go to stare at Catherine Zeta Jones' ass. WON: Renee Zellweger Best musical or comedy About a Boy Adaptation Chicago My Big Fat Greek Wedding Nicholas Nickleby WANT: Adaption. Spike Jonez is cool. WILL: Chicago. Gay. Best actor in musical or comedy Hugh Grant - About a Boy Nicolas Cage - Adaptation Kieran Culkin - Igby Goes down Richard Gere - Chicago Adam Sandler - Punch Drunk Love WANT: Adam Sandler. How much would that rock? Kieran Culkin winning would be equally cool. WILL: Richard Gere, just cause he seem like the most lame nomination, and thats how these geeks are. WON: Richard Gere Best supporting actress Meryl Streep - Adaptation Kathy Bates - About Schmidt Cameron Diaz - Gangs of New York Queen Latifah - Chicago Susan Sarandon - Igby Goes Down WANT: Kathy Bates. Anyone who looks like her and is willing to get butt ass naked deserves something. WILL: Kathy Bates. Anyone who looks like her and is willing to get butt ass naked deserves something. WON: Meryl Streep Best supporting actor Chris Cooper, "Adaptation" Ed Harris, "The Hours" Paul Newman, "Road to Perdition" Dennis Quaid, "Far From Heaven" John C. Reilly, "Chicago" WANT: John C Reilly, I think he's a oool actor. WILL: Paul Newman, he's getting old and he doesn't have many flicks left in him. They like to send them off with a trophy. WON: Chris Cooper SERIES: DRAMA "24" - Fox "The Shield" - FX "Six Feet Under" - HBO "The Sopranos" - HBO "The West Wing" - NBC WANT: 24. Best show on TV. WILL: 24, ditto. WON: The Shield SERIES: MUSICAL OR COMEDY "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - HBO "Friends" - NBC "Sex and the City" - HBO "The Simpsons" - FOX "Will & Grace" - NBC WANT: Curb, better than Sopranos this year. Best dramatic actress Salma Hayek - Frida Nicole Kidman - The Hours Julianne Moore - Far From Heaven Meryl Streep - The Hours Diane Lane - Unfaithful WANT: Salma Hayek, superb job with this movie, even if most people only wanted to see it because she's nude in it. WILL: Salma Hayek, while they like Streep, they also seem to like to award people who come out of nowhere to suprise you with a great performance, and Hayek did that Best dramatic actor Adrian Brody - The Pianist Michael Caine - The Quiet American Daniel Day Lewis - Gangs of New York Leonardo DiCaprio - Catch Me If You Can Jack Nicholson - About Schmidt WANT: Daniel Day Lewis, after 5 years he comes out of nowhere to blow everyone's mind WILL: I think Jack will walk away with it, his acting in About Schmidt is just so different for him it's hard not to give it to him Best director Spike Jonze - Adaptation Peter Jackson - The Two Towers Stephen Daldry - The Hours Rob Marshall - Chicago Alexander Payne - About Schmidt Martin Scorsese - Gangs of New York WANT: Jackson.
