I also hear PrimoDVD is decent. - LZMF1 - 02-28-2002 cool, thanks. - LZMF1 - 02-28-2002 Verbatim DVD-RWs suck ass!!!!!!! 3 different discs and all 3 will not work!!!! fuck - AdolescentMasturbator - 02-28-2002 I hear Apple makes very nice ones. Anybody know a RELIABLE site for the De-Regionizing hacks for DVD players? Since I'm in London, and there are A LOT of good films on DVD here that aren't available in the states, like Futurama and unedited versions of films, I want to find out if I can de-regionize my player at home and watch them. - LZMF1 - 03-08-2002 check out Lik-Sang. i saw that they had what you are looking for. obviously click on the dvd/mp3/bah blah blah link near the top left of the screen. i have ordered from them before and they are reliable. they're located somewhere in hong-kong. hope this helps. I saw a cheap Apex DVD etc. player that also plays MP3's for 75$ new, but it said something about only playing discs labeled Region 1. I wanted to pick it up as a second player that had mp3 playback, but I was like "wtf is Region 1?" Does Region = Country? If so, why would they be made like this?Arthur Dent Wrote:While on the subject of DVD's. Maybe the answer is in those links. While we are on the subject, does anyone know a quality DVD Player review site, other than the standard CNET et al..? - AdolescentMasturbator - 03-09-2002 A Region is a different section of the world. North America= Region 1. Japan(and I think some other asian countries) = Region 2. And so on and so forth. I think the Apex AD-1500 has no region restrictions whatsoever however certain discs won't work since they are for PAL tvs and not NTSC ones. The Apex is a quality player and I would get it if youre in the market for a cheap player(I'm getting one myself soon). - SLASH - 03-10-2002 AdolescentMasturbator Wrote:A Region is a different section of the world. I was looking at both the 1100 and 1500. I believe the 1500 is a 3 disc player, correct? I "think" I saw Region 1 restriction on the 1500 as well. - AdolescentMasturbator - 03-10-2002 Yeah the apparently the ad-1500 has region 1 lockout but that may be able to bypassed. PAL is just a different tv system set that europeans, middle east, and australia use. The difference is NTSC is 60 hz while PAL is 50 if I remember correctly. - SLASH - 03-10-2002 I heard that an older Apex player was able to be hacked to bypass the DMCA(Digital Millenium Copyright Act), but the newer players are made to prevent that as well. - AdolescentMasturbator - 03-10-2002 Yeah some of the older players were scrutinized beaceut hey had macrovision and RCE turned off. I'm just getting the cheapest 1500 I can since I really don't have a need to watch out of region dvds and If I wanted to I could use my ps2 with DVD Region X. |
