- The Sleeper - 01-25-2005 Someone (Hedcold) post a test and me and Sir O and Keyser and no one else can see who knows the most - Arpikarhu - 01-26-2005 yes, cause none of you will use the net or books to find the answers. i rule this non-existant contest a sham! - The Sleeper - 01-26-2005 we did it last year newbie - Sir O - 01-26-2005 Sweet! I loves me some baseball trivia. Some warm-up questions: 1) Name the 5 pitchers who have thrown no-hitters in both leagues. 2) Who is the only team to hit into 2 triple plays in the same game and who was it against? 3) Of the top 10 leaders in career games played, how many are not in the Hall of Fame and who are they? 4) Name the three major league hitters with 2,000 or more strikeouts. 5) Who was the first 3rd baseman to join the 30-30 club? - Galt - 01-26-2005 1. Ryan, Nomo, (guesses -->) Cy Young, Cone, RJ 2. Yankees vs. Red Sox 3. Pete Rose, Cal Ripken, Barry Bonds, Ricky Henderson 4. Babe Ruth, Bobby Bonds, Hank Aaron 5. Howard Johnson Edited By Galt on 1106698970 - The Jays - 01-26-2005 Cone's only had one no hitter. Cal Ripken's not in the Hall of Fame yet? What year did he retire? - Sir O - 01-26-2005 I'll give Galt a 2.8 out of 5 - Galt - 01-26-2005 I don't think Ripken is eligible until next year. I think Him, Gwynn, and someone else who's a surefire first balloter aren't eligible until next year. I was wrong. It's '07, and "the other guy" is Mark McGwire. I'm not that good at this. But I was pretty sure Howard Johnson was right. And if that's right, then I should get more than 1.8 points from the other stuff Edited By Galt on 1106699816 - Sir O - 01-26-2005 Eligible in 2007: Harold Baines, Derek Bell, Dante Bichette, Bobby Bonilla, Jeff Brantley, Jay Buhner, Ken Caminiti, Jose Canseco, Eric Davis, Tony Fernandez, Tony Gwynn, Darryl Hamilton, Pete Harnisch, Charlie Hayes, Glenallen Hill, Ken Hill, Stan Javier, Wally Joyner, Ramon Martinez, Mark McGwire, Paul O’Neill, Gregg Olson, Cal Ripken Jr., Bret Saberhagen, Jeff Shaw, Kevin Tapani, Devon White, Bobby Witt - Sir O - 01-26-2005 Quote:But I was pretty sure Howard Johnson was right. And if that's right, then I should get more than 1.8 points from the other stuff You got one completely wrong, partial credit on a few. - Galt - 01-26-2005 Oh, I actually got two completely wrong (assuming my Yankees/Sox guess was also wrong) I suck - Sir O - 01-26-2005 Quote:Oh, I actually got two completely wrong (assuming my Yankees/Sox guess was also wrong) That one, you got one of the teams right, but on the wrong side. - HedCold - 01-26-2005 ok, i'll put it together and it'll be posted some time tonight/this morning, so tomorrow you can do it - Arpikarhu - 01-26-2005 The Sleeper Wrote:we did it last year newbiedoesnt mean you didnt cheat - HedCold - 01-26-2005 so ummm, yea, i've been busy. if someone else wants to put it together, or i'll try tonight. sorry - Keyser Soze - 01-26-2005 bring it bitches!!! - The Sleeper - 01-31-2005 top - Sir O - 01-31-2005 Answers to the questions I posted: 1) Name the 5 pitchers who have thrown no-hitters in both leagues.
