guys....lemme know how that shit turns out for you.
i don't have TiVo but my brother in law does...he might want to do this but he couldn't even put in a new HD, a better video card, and a DVD burner into his PC.....i did it while he sat and watched in amazement.
i have the DSR7000 which requires a special bracket to fit a second drive. it also seems like it would cost more to do it than just buy a 80 gig tivo on ebay.
another thing i was wondering is if i could network my tivo. its got a USB port and i have a USB to ethernet adapter. i hear you can download updates over the web. i hooked my tivo up to the ethernet but dont know what to do from there.
fuck tivo, MythTV is where its at.
ive recorded about 10hours worth of shows a week for the last 6-8 weeks (and don't delete them) in dvd quality mpeg2 and my 250gb hd is only 65% full

nope. they all suck compared to the original Tribes. and actually, i had to pull that card out of my daily use/gaming box and put it in my mythtv box, so now i use one of the first geforce256 cards that came out. and i have no sound on this comp anymore cuz i needed a soundcard in my myth box and i dn't have enough money to buy a new one. i plan on upgrading my comp within the next 4-6 months anyway, so its no big deal. i can live without sound and a good vid card til then.
Quote:i think i'll pick up another regular old 40 or 80 gig hard drive and pop it into my other PS2.....it'll definitely be cheaper all you gotta do is shim it so it doesn't rattle around inside. all i'll have to do is use the utility disc to set it up.
So if I somehow get my hands on someone's utility disc, I can install any old hard drive into my PS2? Righteous!
