Marbury is a very underestimated player, he is only the second man in history other than Oscar Robertson to average 20 PPG & 8 Assits for a career. Though I agree this doesn't make the knicks a championship team, it makes them a better team.
And no matter how bad Van Horn & Marbury hated eachother, Van Horn had his best year playing with Marbury. Plus with coney islands finest back in NY it will definetly rejuvinate the Garden. The knicks don't care about salary, they will never be under the cap anyway. It's not the greatest trade but for them it's better than anything they have done in years. Houston & Marbury in the back court will be very interesting to watch. http://www.dvdspot.com/member=Gonzostyle http://www.myspace.com/brooklyngonzo http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=770777388 diceisgod Wrote:I LOVE YOU GONZY WONZY SNOOKIE WOOKIE DUMPLIN BUNS!

As good as it is to finally get rid of Charlie Ward, Marbury hasn't proved that he can win at all in the league. I'm pretty ambivalent about this trade.

I remebered arguing that the Marbury trade was better for the Suns and bad for the Knicks, so I searched and then realized that it was on YMB:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://board.yourmomsbox.net/viewthread.php?tid=2684">http://board.yourmomsbox.net/viewthread.php?tid=2684</a><!-- m --> Since then, things have gone worse than expected for the Knicks, who are at the bottom of the worst division in the NBA. Meanwhile, the Suns used their free cap space to sign Steve Nash and now look unstoppable. Tonight's game felt like Phoenix was just coasting for the first 3 quarters before going for the kill in the 4th. The Knicks were fighting to stay in the game before running out of gas. They've now lost 15 of their last 17. The next few years are going to be extremely painful for Knicks fans.

Quote:as opposed to the last few years? True. But getting rid of Layden and bringing in Isiah, followed by trading for AWESOMENEWYORKPOINTGUARDSTEPHONMARBURY was supposed to signal that better times are coming. Tonight's game just reminded me of that...
