Three in a row! I'm building steam! I lost two games to two teams who had the week of their lives. Out of 24 teams (12 in each division) I have the most points. 24 teams! You're so hung up on running backs you don't see the other avenues to do well. Look at my running backs I got: Dunn (great year), Emmitt Smith (say what you want he's doing very well), Rudi Johnson, Onterrio Smith (going to be the man there when he gets back) and Tyronne Wheatley (alright he sucks). I got them all late and three or four of them are doing just as well as any RB in the league. The point is you'd have to be a jack ass to pick medicocre running backs in the first round if you are drafting late. Take producers. Look at the numbers, Nancy. Tell me you took Kevin Barlow over Culpepper? Over Moss? You're an ass if you did for the sake of this bullshit notion that running backs make or break your team if you don't draft them first.
1st Round: Travis Henry (total fucking bust)
2nd Round: Daunte (greatest player in history)
3rd Round: Derrick Mason
4th Round: Warrick Dunn
5th Round: Andre Johnson
I'm not all stuck up on having to pick two RBs with your first two picks. My point is that you don't want to be fully leveraged to one guy throwing TDs to another guy. You also lucked out with Dunn and Emmitt. Now, sure if Daunte continues on his pace and gets 5000 yards passing and throws 50 TDs (inlcuding 25 to Moss) then you've got a solid team.
In my league, points are meaningless except as a tiebreaker. If you end up 8-8 but have the most points, who cares? I still hold firm that you will either destroy whoever you are playing against (like I'm sure you did this week) or get killed against whoever you are playing (like you probably did when the duo did poorly in week 2). You want a balanced and consistent team, not feast or famine.
Do yourself a favor and trade Daunte or Moss now, capitalize on the fragile Dunn's great start, by trading two of them for a longer term upgrade and diversify yo team, nigga.
