And, if you follow most religion's teachings.. man did these things because man was INSTRUCTED to do these things... not because he was inspired with a new concept.

What it boils down to is those who believe cannot claim religion is an invention, and those who claim religion is an invention do not believe, no matter how loudly they may claim otherwise.
Man can claim credit for the structure of a religion, but since religion itself stems from the divine, and invention is a cause, NOT an effect, man cannot claim credit for the actual invention of religion UNLESS he can claim credit for the divine as well.
Which begs the question, did God create Man, or did Man create God?

The guillotine was invented by a doctor as a more humane way of executing people after he witnessed the attempt to execute a man with an axe. It took a dozen strokes to kill the man because the axe kept wobbling and hitting the guy in the shoulders and the back of the head or wouldn't go all the way through the neck.

Most evil invention would have to be someTHING (not a thought or philosphy) that has no other purpose but to cause pain, death and/or destruction.

I can think of a few chemical weapons that cause just about the most horrifying and painful death you could ever wish on a person.

Not to mention biological weapons. BTW, there are a lot more than just a few chem weapons out there will do that. I've seen pics in more than a few classes I've had to take of just mustard gas alone that are just vile. :crackhead:

Actually, I think religion Is an excuse for all of mans problems. They blame It for everything from famine to extra-marital affairs. People cant own up to their pathetic failures, so they need an excuse to take the guilt away.
