id sign pedro in a second. he's still an elite pitcher. id take him over leiter any day of the week.

you'd sign him for 3 years 38 million? and you make it seem like leiter and him are their only 2 choices. can minaya even negotiate with non dominican players?
11-30-2004, 06:32 PM
wouldn't it be 4 years $50 million?
11-30-2004, 06:52 PM
but only the first three are guaranteed (at least according to the espn article). the fourth year probably has a buyout or something

better than the Glavine deal but...

i would rank the mets options this way
1. Oakland big three in a trade 2. Pedro 3. Pavano any other option is second best.

better than signing sosa

I agree. Sosa is poison.
if Mets can sign a pitcher...deal Piazza and get a consistent slugger in outfield....plus a good 1st basemen would be nice... i'd be happy

the right move would be to get beltran. the mets pitching was #2 in the majors the first half of the season. they had no run support so the rotation imploded after the all star break.
pitching wins championships, but you need a few bats too.

I really hope they get Pedro.

me too. anything to stop george from signing that greaseball.
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you. GonzoStyle Wrote:I pledge my undying love for Arpi, any retraction of this undying love is to be ignored. Nominated for," 2005 poster of the year", by 4 out of 6 mods!
