How are fuel cells coming along? I hear they have made a lot of process. Referring back to another thread if we put more funding into NASA we could probably advance fuel cell research as well.
Also Saudi Arabia is no longer the world's largest oil producer. Russia is now. We could buy from Russia more. Even though Russian politics aren't the greatest(war on chechnya, etc) it's obviously way better than dealing with Wahhabists in Saudi Arabia.
The amount of shit these oil companies do is amazing. Shell for example wanted to get oil from Nigeria and the government was completely in their pocket. They did this to a)have the government stamp out any resistance from the people to the drilling and b)be able to get all the profits without giving anything back. There was a case of a man being executed for speaking out aganist Shell's practices.
It will be a long hard way because as much as Democrats pretend to be Environmentalists they are just as shitty as Republicans on energy policy.
