Yeah I agree, jaws if definitly top 5, I remember seeing in the theatre when it was re-released when Jaws 3-D came out. I was as fucked up as everyone else about the ocean, it definitly took a genre where the calming factor is always "its just a movie" and turned that around. It was a movie but it wasnt a movie about a guy who kills you in your dreams or a crazy hockey mask wearin guy who visits you at camp, it was about something that almost everyone does and took something that was a reality and made it work. They nailed it on the head when one of the guys said "it's not like no one was ever killed by a shark and it was so obvious an idea that every horror director must have slapped themselves on the forehead when they saw the movie".
