I will agree with you there, Saw was a fuckin god awful movie. The acting alone made it terrible and I still have no clue what the fuckin Danny Glover was doing in the film. Woooooo the big shock that he was in the room the whole time, that doesnt make up for the prevoius 1 hour and 58 minutes.
But either way, I made up my list by going off the comparison of a favorite actor, its someone to me whose film I would see simply because he was in it. Like De Niro or Nicholson, I may not know what the movie is about but strictly cause they are in it, I will see the film.
I will see a scorsese film no matter who is in it or what its about simply because of him, same with the coen brothers and speilberg.
Hitchcock and wilder and kurosawa, after first disovering their films, I had to see whatever else they did simply because of their great direction.
Though I like some of woody allens films, I wouldnt see a film strictly cause its a woody allen film. It has to have some actors I like or a plot that may interest me.
Same goes for Francis Ford Coppola, though he directed The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, I cant say i'd see a film strictly off his name being on it.
Mike Curtiz directed several films that I love like Casablanca and Yankee Doodle Dandy but he was simply involved with them because he was such a prolific director and shot several films a year.
