Don't apologize for it. Play it off exactly as what it was, something in the past.
I gotta say, though, the whole bit of "I don't know what kind of differently it make me feel." sounded like a crock of shit. She's not cool with it, so you have to acknowledge it rather than pretend you never said anything.
Apologizing would ruin any chance of ever getting her and her friend though!
