my point all along
Sure, but how entertained are you if you watch the film and are constantly REMINDED it's just a movie by all the things that are wrong with it.
Like "Reindeer Games". Nice concept, good cast, etc. But every time they showed the casino security, I was, like, bullshit. I mean, what moron puts a plywood door on his money room? And plasterboard walls? I don't think so.
Don't know who was the first person to say it, but you should only be asked to accept one thing in a movie that is not realistic. Like the existence of vampires. Establish that there are real vampires and the rules about them. Sunlight, crosses, super strong, etc. Then, eveything else about the movie should be realistic. The effect of guns on objects, the way people act, stuff like that.
In other words, don't treat the audience like their too stupid to notice all the mistakes.
