Barry Bonds is not the greatest player of all time. Many of the reasons have already been expressed by others( including Maximus's brilliant observations. Way to go, gimp) However one thing that has not been expressed is the fact that the pitching is so watered down in baseball now. Apart from maybe 15-20 pitchers, these guys are horrible. How does Jesse Orosco still have a job? Or Mike Morgan? Even 15 years ago it was better. Expansion has hurt the sport because there is just not enough talent to go around. 15 years ago, baseball would never have gone to Japan to find talent because there was enough. I miss the days when every team had a #1 starter. Now, only the teams with the money can have good pitching staffs.
