Sleeper simply kept up the ruse out of pity for everyone else who find it somehow to be a self-esteem booster to think that no matter how bad shit is, they are not virgins like sleeper. Yet sleeper is such a man that out of the goodness and kindness of his good nature he figured, "eh, let em think I am still a virgin, poor bastards".
