Yeah, when they broke this story initially they had no details about how he was injured over pretty much his entire upper half. I had assumed Cheney was using some sort of hunting rifle and not something that fired a wide spread like birdshot.
I like the article I read where they mentioned that the cops were denied the opportunity to interview Cheney and witnesses but they did rule out anyone being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I guess they took a secret service agent's word for it.
