Wanderlei and PRIDE are trying to get traction to make a fight happen, but previously PRIDE balked originally back when there was supposed to be a Nov fight. The problem is between the two promotions, so I'm doubtful its anything substantial. With Silva getting his head kicked in by CroCop (Fedor's true competition and a rematch I CANNOT wait to see), his stock and thus PRIDES advantage has dropped. Liddell, on the other hand, punch Babalu's (a very good fighter) block off on his hit parade...which will culminate with Tito Ortiz rematch in Dec. Liddell/UFC is in the drivers seat, but PRIDE/UFC being able to hash out a deal...doubtful.
Prides PPV wasn't very good...and THEY NEEDED TO KILL. Not a smart business plan or PPV matchup...and the problem is with PRIDES braintrust. UFC, if anything, have been brilliant in matchups and MOST, not all, PPV. Only few stinkers..but when its a ratings buster, they know how to put one together (Couture vs Liddell, TUF 3, Resigning Ortiz, etc)
There are four kinds of people in this world: cretins, fools, morons, and lunatics.
