Last Wednesday I ordered a couple of things off espnshop which has free shipping on orders over $75. Of course, what they fail to mention is that they ship via DHL, which I didn't think much of at the time.
DHL has several sorting facilities, with the primary one located in Ohio. Apparently, instead of shipping packages from point A to point B, the package first is routed to a DHL sorting facility, where it is then sent via regular, first class mail to point B.
As retarded as that sounds, it gets worse. I checked the order status a few days later and found that it had started off in Wisconsin (where ESPN evidently ships from), then the next day it was in a DHL sort facility in Minneapolis. Then 2 days later it was with DHL in Ohio, where it has been since Monday.
Naturally, DHL is unable to tell me why the package is still in Ohio, or when I can expect to receive it.
I'm not quite sure who is more to blame here - ESPN for being too cheap to ship their shit like a normal company - from point A directly to point B. Or DHL for having a package in Minnesota that is heading to Nevada, but deciding to send it further east first.
I'm sure every company out there offering a great deal under the guise of free shipping uses this same ridiculous shipping method. Just spend the extra few dollars to get your shit shipped in at least a somewhat timely manner.
