I always ask them to slice lunchmeat thin because they will give you nickel thick slices if you don't. But cheese should be somewhat thicker, albiet not ridiculously thick. Otherwise the stack will just weld together. I'm seriously just considering shoving the mook at the grocery store out of the way and doing it myself. There is no method to this. It's all common sense. People that have never eaten sandwiches before have no business slicing my lunchmeat or cheese. They should specify this on their resume or at least someone should ask them during their interview at the store. Never eaten a sandwich? Fine. The broom closet's over there.
