The siemens router sould be fine. I think you may have wasted your money on Cat6 cables though. Seems they cut down on crosstalk and provide a cleaner signal through more strict guidelines in cable production. What this means is, in a high-noise, or long cable segment network you will lose less packets, effectively increasing your communication speed. However, for surfing the web on a cable modem, I hardly think you'll see any measurable increase in speed. You might see an increase in p2p file transfers, but I still think that will be marginal.
