It was definitely a strange episode, and I'll probably be in the minority in liking it. Not as good as last week, and not nearly as good as the pine barrens episode (maybe the best after the 1st episode), but I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
again, there was a lot of setup for the last 2 episodes which look like they'll rock (yeah, I know the previews lie...) You see that Janice is still a conniving bitch, and nothing is below her; you see the writing on the wall for a big war with NY and Paulie on the outs, which of course means that Paulie won't get knocked off; you see Tony knowing the ramifications for what he does, but rather than give up the bad work he will ignore the conscience.
those dreams were somewhat artsy, but that is what separates this from other shows - it can be artistic, and it can be brutal.
for an interesting look at yesterday's episode by some actual psychiatrists, go here:
The Sopranos: Season 4 Analyzed; Week 11
I can tell you this - I know where I'll be for the next 2 Sundays
