If Gollum wasn't CGI, the argument he has with himself in that one scene would be Oscar worthy right there.
The only way the Battle of Helmsdeep could have been anymore bad-ass was if it was an R rated bloodfest like Braveheart. As it was, there were plenty of decapatations and stuff to go around.
The whole movie was great. Not 100% true to the book, but so what? It worked.
