I disagree galt, it is unfair to take someone from today and put him in the past. The athlete was different back then.
Players get bigger, stronger and better with each passing generation. Especially with todays salaries and the money involved, players are treated with more respect than they were back then, their every need is met. Back then they were treated basically as servants to the tycoons of baseball.
That would be as fair as saying that Lennox Lewis at 6' 6" and 250 pounds would knock out Jack Dempsey at 5' 9" and 180 pounds. Even though both men were heavyweight champions. But one is fighting today while the other one fought in ruths era.
