Hmmmm.....I downloaded Grokster (minus the spy ware I hope)...but that is on my weekend PC.
My weekday PC has no file sharing program at this time. I'm still undecided what I want to use. Any Uber Geek suggestions?

I use Direct Connect, and love it. It rocks.

I know Seph really likes Direct Connect. In fact, he was über enthusiastic about it. Some would say he was in a zone of his own when he describes it. What a geek!

I did download Direct Connect, but, I still don't understand some things about it.
I know Seph. is very Uber about it and highly recommends it. I wish I could get in better touch with my inner Geek to be able to understand it better.

Quote:This thread is the message board equivalent of Craig Biggio. Please explain. Also, am I the only retard who can't get Direct Connect to work properly? It's like I need a 100 gig server to be able to connect to any hubs

Starts slow and winds up hitting for the cycle. Has it been moved into 4 different forums yet?
04-12-2002, 02:57 AM
That's what happened to me, too, Galt. I also just wanted to add one folder to what I share but it seems that is not how Direct Connect works. I have to share everything in My Documents folder and I don't want to do that.

The Key to DC is to get as much porno as you can and dump it into a shared folder. Everyone scans for porn on those hubs, I don't care what the hub calls itself. Most of the hubs require at least 2-3 gig of shared files, and in this day and age that's not a whole lot. Once you have the minimum requirements for whatever hub you want to go in, start leeching and getting what you want. But always leave the porn on your computer - it helps get you into hubs and provides great entertainment when downloading from a slow DC-er
:toast: DC rocks - there is no substitute - except I keep getting corrupted files when trying to d/l Dreamweaver off of people. Edited By goatweed on April 12 2002 at 01:31

WEll, I watch movies on my computer sometimes. I got a really good DVD software package with my computer. But I have a flat panel monitor, and the refresh rate isn't nearly as good as a regular monitor. So I don't watch a whole lot.

I caught part of The Unforgiven on Cinemax a few nights ago. From what I saw, it looked pretty interesting. I will definitley have to sit down and watch the whole thing next time it is on.
As for going to the movies, I haven't gone out to the movies in I don't know how long. I miss out, yes...I know that, but, I really enjoy being at home and not having to miss anything if I need to use the powder room. What is Frailty all about, Spit?

The Unforgiven is an excellent movie. Might be one of Clint's best westerns, impressively done so late in his career.

No.....this is different Keyser...maybe I have the Title screwed up, but, this was about some freaked out Vampires and they had this chick with them that they had to shoot up with heroin all the time. Really wierd stuff. Like I said....I don't watch much tv.
