In it's third year, PS2 owners finally have a baseball game that is worth owning. All-Star Baseball 2003 Featuring Derek Jeter from AcclaimSports just fuckin rocks to no end.
There are a truck load of features that make this game stand out above all others, including High Heat, which I owned for a whole day. The one feature that makes it a must buy is expanssion mode. You get to choose your city, logo (abiet some cheezzzzzy ones) and participate in an axpansion draft and build your team from the bottom up. The game uses a very fair trade system so building a super team is not going to come all that easy.
The game play is outstanding. Easy controls and if you have a problem with the Icon based hitting interface, you can go old school and turn that feature off. This is the first BB game I can remember shattering your bat with pieces flying everywhere for hitting a pitch up near the hands. Pitching is a breeze and to have a futre throw option makes playing fluid and seemless. Futre throwing is that you press the button for who you want to throw to before you field the ball and it will throw to that player once the ball is fielded.
The only problem I have is with the sound. It seems a bit muffled at times but it is real easy to overlook this one downfall.
