Cheating!

If you don't tell, then you are continuing to cheat your partner in a way because there is something in between you that you can't share, and not to mention you are continuing to lie to them to cover it up. You are putting something in the middle of you guys, and that sucks. I don't see the point of having a relationship where you have to lie and hold things in.

I cheated when I was younger, but I've grown to realize that to many people get hurt that way. If you're not happy with your present piece of ass, end the relationship, and get some new tail. It's not worth going through all the mental bs.

I've cheated on someone before. It isn't an easy thing to keep to yourself if you love the person. I ended up telling him, and we stayed together. The way I feel about it is if I am with a guy, and he wants someone else, he can have all the sex he wants with her, hell, even better, bring her home for both of us. Sex can be just sex, it is when an emotional attachment is formed that I would be upset.

See, that's not how I feel at all. When I have sex with someone, I like it to be special. Yeah, I've had sex that didn't mean anything, but I hated it afterwards. I think that sex should be special.

Funny enough, even after starting this thread, and now the poll, it still doesn't make me feel any less pissed off than I did after hearing the bit on Stern yesterday.

Something else I'm wondering, if you're actually in a relationship right now or not. I'm not, so I can't speak about this in the present, only in the past tense. Do you feel different with different people? Maybe you just don't mind cheating on the person that you're with now.

Yes it is different with different people. I think people cheat because they are looking for something that is missing in their current relationship, not necessarily something physical either. I think if you're really connected with the person you're with, and you are satisfied emotionally, mentally, and physically, cheating isn't even an issue.

I don't know if its just me, but even though being satisfied sexually is important to me, if my boyfriend met all my emotional needs, I would never cheat on him. Sex is something that can be worked on, so there isn't really a need to get it elsewhere....but when someone isn't there for you emotionally...that's what drives you away.

ive cheated..
i was with this boy for about 6 months, we lived together and had this very serious relationship. we faught alot and just couldnt get it together in bed. but because (and this is going to sound sooo selfish) i didnt have anywhere else to go i stayed with him. and honestly i loved him, we just werent right for eachother...
i cheated on him 4 times and ended up telling him with the intent of trying to work things out, inevidably he kicked me out a few days later.. i took it in stride knowing what i did was wrong...

i have cheated one other time since then... and just broke up with him.. when i have the urge to cheat, its now a sign to me that im in a dead end relationship and my needs are not being met. and i know now its better to just move on, then to cheat and struggle.

I feel the same way maynard, I just meant that if I were dating a guy that could go out and have sex, go for it, I wouldn't mind. It's the emotional part that would bother me.
