I didnt think the post your fav movie scenes thread would be as good as it turned out to be but since it did, heres another variation. Instead of movies we have seen, post trailers for movies you are looking forward to seeing.

I will go with the uber obvious one first

Like X3 and Revenge of the sith, this 3rd installment looks like its going the darker route, which is always good. Even if X3 dissapointed, awesome idea but poor execution, especially the handling of the dark phoenix character. But Spidey 3 looks like it might be the best one yet.

Departed was a very good movie. Don't get me wrong.

But, given how fantastic Scorcese is regarded, I was very surprised how many blatant editing issues there were in the movie. Cigarettes, drinks, bruises, blood, etc disappearing and repearing from shot to shot. I know that's not the director's "job" per se, but you think someone would have caught those errors.

And there were a few scenes which served no purpose, and like a Sopranos episode, there were some arcs which were never resolved.

Marky Walberg was downright atrocious in the movie. High school quality acting. Which is odd, because he was basically playing himself. He had good lines, but his "tough guy" shit was so forced and laughable. The first big scene of hte movie with him, DiCaprio, and Sheen, he stole the show with his awfulness.

The last scene was so insanely cheesy it's actually upsetting, and made me leave the theatre rolling my eyes and groaning.

it's difficult to respect your reviews of films but judging by your past reviews, this movie must be oscar worthy, since you didnt pick on it too much.

I actually agree with Galts take. The editting was not so bad, but the continuity was sloppy...made me think it had to be on purpose..but not sure. never saw Infernal Affairs, the Hong kong movie its based on. Jack overacted, and I'd had preferred a more creepy fellow, it wasn't bad persay. Damon's character was scripted a bit shallow. DiCaprio was very good. Alec Baldwin was hilarious...and made me with Marky Mark's straightforward lines which were funny, were spoken by someone with acting skills. No depth. Dialogue, overall, was excellent, which leads to believe that someone was brought in to "punch" it up. ((Mamet, Tarantino sometimes do that)). The directing was excellent, and it was a very good movie with a few points of contention.
