i watched this show the other day for the first time in like 15 years and i was surprised how funny it is. the whole episode revolved around the betty white character sleeping with a guy, who ends up dead the next day. and later on they all go dancing and she is too depressed to go so she stays home. the wise cracking mom goes "don't worry, if a mugger comes, she can just sleep with him!". some serious dark comedy.

the mom and bea arthur come back from betty white's room after confirming that the dude is dead in her bed

mom: "yep, he bought the farm"
betty white: "oh really, which farm?"
bea arthur: "he's dead"
betty white: "oh no...and he had just bought a farm"
