deleting silence from MP3

Any FREE software that I can use to edit MP3s?

I have like 10 songs where there's either a stupid skit at the beginning of the song (thank you Jay-Z) or there's a stupid skit at the end of the song (thank you Lauryn Hill) or just pure silence for a minute.

Any easy-to-use, free software that I can just crop that shit out?

you have to follow the directions to make sure it outputs to mp3 though

i haven't tried that so i dunno how good it works
