I mean is it any different to say all Arabs are terrorists than it is to say all black people are criminals? NO!!! | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Grumpy -- I hear what you are say'n -- and I'm glad you are proud of your heritage as all should be -- and I Agree with you, Yesterday as I was waiting for my son to be born, my wife realized that we would need phone cards to call her Mom in Brazil, so I walk 3 blocks from the hospital to a small news store. Inside was a man with a long beard and a turban on his head. He had the look of fear in his face. Just imagine that all you want to do is work to feed your family and every customer that comes in might look at you with anger and hate and might try to hurt you for your religion. I also understand the anger of the US people, we don't understand how anyone could do such a despicable act. So all I can say to all is Don't take the fight into your own hands in our backyard. Because i know and am friends with many muslims, i know that some of them are pretty freaked out by the reactions of some americans. people have to realize that the vast majority of Muslims and Arabs, including ones in the middle east, are as shocked and disgusted with what happened here as we are. | Psychopath Registered: Jul. 01 | A friend of mine, and ex-co worker is Muslim. His name is Abdul Bilal. One of our biggest clients was Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in the World Trade Center. Whenever he would go there for a meeting he would be all but strip searched. And this was over 5 years after the first bombing took place. This man is a proud citizen of the United States of America and a father and husband. He's a wonderful man who would never hurt a fly. Yet I can just imagine how he will be viewed now by ignorant people who lump him in with the likes of terrorists just because of his origins. My heart goes out to all these peole that have to live in fear because of what a few of his people did. Timothy McVie was a terrorist who killed hundreds of people but I didn't see anyone attacking people of his decent afterwards. How is it different? Because he was white? That's just ludicrous. And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I am a bartender, and was asked about this last night... My answer: In my head, I KNOW that not all arabs are bad people or terrorists. In my head, I KNOW that there are many Muslims that have come here for the same opportunity as my ancestors. However, we, as Americans, allowed these terrorists into our country, under that very same belief. We let them in for opportunity, and they left us with thousands of orphan children, widows, widowers...etc... In my head, I KNOW that there are very many GOOD people in this country who are Muslim and/or Arab. But in my heart, how can I decipher. I may have at some point looked at one of these very terrorists in the face and thought "Good for them...coming to this country to make a better life for themselves." How do I know who is who? How do any of us? I don't hate any of the Arabs or Muslims in this country. I'm not going to act violenty toward them. I don't even want to see them all deported. All I'm saying is that it's very hard right now, trying to find out who is who. GOD BLESS AMERICA | ||||
