| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | Actually, kindredbabe, I prefer to pay the tolls. This way the road is paid for by the people that use it. If there were no tolls, the road would be financed by taxes. In this case NJ state tax. So, everyone in NJ would pay for the parkway whether they use it or not or, even know that they're paying fo it. And, all the people from PA, NY and, DE that use the road regularly would get a free ride. So what? right? we drive on their roads for free... Well I say F them. Do they have any roads that are as smooth clean and scenic as the GSP? I submit that they do not. Anyway, the point is... It's very similar to our public school system. Everyone pays so everyone gets a say in how money is spent. Sucks for schools sucks even more for roads. If the state takes over full control of the parkway, how often ya think it's going to be repaved? How many new entrance/exit ramps are ever going to be built? How much garbage is going to pile up on the shoulders? To answer these questions one needs look no further than Rt.9 or the turnpike. Pleasure to drive on those roads, ain't it? As for EZ-Pass, I have used it for over 3 years, for NY bridges, and ever since it was for the parkway and turnpike. I understand how you all get pissed because we fly by you and go right through. Especially you mental fucking midgets who try and block us from getting to the ez-pass by crossing 3 lanes to get to the other sides cash lane. I can't tell you how many dents I have left in your fucking cars playing that game. Fuck you all.  | ||||

I think it's the greatest invention ever, not only do you not have to wait in line while people are searching for tokens but you get a discount on the toll. It makes life so much easier. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | Yeah, it all sounds fine. But, I just have my doubts about any "prepay" system. Why doesn't the windshield mounted tracking device have an odometer-like display to let you know how much you've spent? Are we supposed to trust then to bill us correctly? or, are we supposed to keep track of how much we pay ourselves? or, just trust them with our credit card/bank account info? It really wasn't that long ago that this system was implimented on the GSP. And, it's already losing money. It's a flawed system. It doesn't work. How do you possibly make any proffit by collecting a toll at the same rate or, less than it was collected before you (EZ-Pass) were hired to collect it? That's right. You make money on FINES. This is really nothing new. Cities have been using this profitable method for decades in the form of parking meters. Yeah, you thought they got rich charging you a quarter to park for a half hour in seaside. Nuh uh... It cost FAR more than it's worth to collect the quarters from the meters. The money is in the fines. So, your budy/your pal EZ-Pass wants you to F up so they can fine you. Another method they use for keeping their overhead down is hiring cheap labor. You think the mindless idiot making minumum wage really gives a S if he/she misplaces a decimal piont on your bill? Guess again. We all saw what the result of this revenue generator did for the airlines. And, now they've already got your money. It's up to you to prove that they owe you a refund. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | A digital readout, would cost a mega butt ton more. As it is, no batteries are required. I had one of those things maintenance free for over 2 years. When I changed cars, I had to get a license plate mounted one. If you are that concerned, you keep track of your trips. As for fines, I have had EZ-Pass over 3 years, and have never been fined. I never exceed double the ezpass speed limit, and never get tickets. I have never had a billing issue, and I probably put about $120 a month through the pass. My best part however is my company pays for it, so I don't even see a bill. They even pay for my personal use. Anyway... Later Daze | ||||
