Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Who won't allow pets in their apartments! It is near fucking impossible to find a damn apartment if you have a dog! I understand all the things a homeowner would be worried about, but I keep my dog in a cage when I'm not home! How do they expect people, especially women, to just live alone? Fuck you.

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I'm familiar with this FU as well. My friend and I were looking for an apartment. She has a dog and 2 cats. Every place we called said absolutely no! I can see the dog as to why, but her 2 cats are declawed and neutered. At one point we decided to only say we had one cat, and these places STILL said no!! WTF is a neutered, declawed cat gonna do? We finally got lucky and found a place and we're moving in next month. Hang in there girl, something will come up for you soon, good luck! Thanks to NJPANTHER for the sig pic! All the times that I felt like this won't end was for you. And I taste what I could never have it's from you. All the times that I've tried, my intentions, full of pride but I waste more time than anyone. All the times that I've cried, all this wasted, it's all inside. And I feel all this pain stuffed it down it's back again. And I lie here in bed all alone, I can't mend but I feel tomorrow will be OK.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | Two things can and do happen with irresponsible people. 1. the house starts to smell from the animals. Know this first hand. When my neighbors have their front door open, I can't stand to sit out on the common stairs (attached house) because the smell gets that bad. 2. The law (especially in NY) strongly favors the renter and screws the home owner. Can take lawyers and a court order to get a bad tenant out. These people just don't know you and aren't willing to take the chance. "I don't read books, but I have friends who do." -Presidential Candidate George W. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | You are absolutely right, Arthur. From my experiences, no matter how domesticated the pet is or how much you clean up after it, the little fucker still pisses and shits and, worst of all, stinks. Non-pet owners can tell before reaching the front door whether there is a pet in the house, just like a non-smoker can identify a smoker. I enjoy animals, to an extent, but you have to understand the reluctancy of people to rent out to pet owners, especially if they have been burned before. But Brittney, a friend of mine went through the same trouble recently with her dashchund (sp?), those little "hot dog" dogs. Her advice is to go to a realtor; you'll pay a pretty penny (which suh-huh-ucks) but it will make your life somewhat easier. Good luck! "Have you talked to your doctor about Stacker 2?"

O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | MoS, if the owner is responsible (vacuuming regularly, using deodorizers, etc.) and the pet is properly trained and cleaned up after, then there is no problem. It's only when the owners are lazy and irresponsible that problems happen. "I don't read books, but I have friends who do." -Presidential Candidate George W. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | True, Arthur, all the people I lived with/near/around that had pets were lazy and irresponsible. The dicey characters that live upstairs from me now, so long as they clean up the dog shit, keep the cat piss off the stairs outside my door and keep their door closed to keep the animal stink in, I'm cool. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Brittney, thats to bad. My parents rented out our old house to these blacks and they did'nt pay the rent for 8 months. A landlord has to be careful to who he lets live in his house. Also if a dog take a piss on a carpet it goes into the padding and the smell wont go away.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | There are still people who let their places get quite smelly with pets. Keep in mind, I own a cat, and did not pay any extra deposit. Bought the cat after I signed. The landlord found out, and it isn't a problem. There isn't an odor. Still, the owner can choose to deny access to their place, CAUSE THEY OWN IT! Don't like it, buy! The stupid shall be punished!

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | FU TO RENTERS WITH PETS!!!! I have 2 houses that I rent out and just had to dump $7500 in to one of them because of the damage that was done. I gave this little WHHOOORREEE a break with really really cheap rent because she was a single mom. I never became nosey and I tried my hardest to stay out of her hair. Well, one day she calls me and say she is moving to the west coast and needs to break the leases....I am nice so I said I would agree, I figured I could rent it for alot more than she was paying. Well she really gave me a screwing. Her dog (black lab) pissed on my screened in porch sooo often that I had to replace the floor. The dog also left HUGE scratch marks (about a half inch deep) in some irreplacable doors from 1908. The hand charved antique moldings along the floor were all chewed up or something. I wont even mention the damage her monster child did to the walls and carpet or how the dog dug wholes all over the back yard. So Britney....I suggest next time you make a post think about both sides of the arguement. This thread really should be "FU TO PEOPLE WHO OWN PETS AND DONT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM." DO you understand what a painm in the ass these things are for home owners? Do you know how painful it is to see something you worked for get trashed? My insurance wioll reimburrse most of the money but I will never find that classic hand carved wood work again. Why dont you people get you own Sig pic...stop using my X symboll

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | That's just because she was iresponsible. I keep my dog in a cage when I'm not home, out of respect for the place I live. I don't think he would do anything like that, but I don't want to give him the chance, either. I didn't start this thread to start an argument. I am just frustrated and overwhelmed with trying to find an apartment that will allow my dog. It is nothing personal nor is it really aimed at anyone in particular. Please do not take it personally. Also, please remember, don't let one rotten apple spoil the bunch. Just because you had a bad experience with one person, doesn't mean we're all like that. I've been adopted by spitfire!!!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Brittany, do not interpret this as bashing. It is obvious to me at your present frame of mind, that you are a selfish brat. If you don't like an opinion, or a position of somebody, you say an FU. A more mature way to approach it is to try and see both sides first. There is a world of people around you who have different experiences than you. Just because someone reacts in a way you don't understand doesn't make them wrong. I am not going any further with this. I know you may not even get what I am saying now. Somewhere along the line, you will see the truth of this. Have a nice life. The stupid shall be punished!

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I've already stated that I understand why homeowners wouldn't want pets. But, I've also stated that I take all precautions to prevent them, and am willing to take responsibility if something DOES happen. As for me being a selfish brat, that is untrue. If I was selfish, I would have stopped thinking about my dog, because of all of the trouble, and started only thinking about myself and would have gotten rid of him. But I didn't do that. You just have no idea how frustrating it is to have people breathing down your neck every day to move out. I'm trying, but this whole situation is very frustrating. Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | My landlord explained to me why he only allows pets in a couple of his places. Pets shed, the hairs get into carpet fibers, cracks in wood floors, heating vents, basically in every crevice of the house. Many people are very alergic to cats, dogs, etc. He has had places where he has replaced the carpet, a potential renter has come in and said "A cat lived here, I am starting to get congested" Sure enough the tenant before had a cat, mind you he replaced the carpet before she went in. So now he can't rent it to that person and it stays on the market longer, he loses money everyday its on the market. He said this has happened to him 5-6 times. So, it is a lot more then being irresponsible, he has had what he called the most responsible pet owners and still had trouble renting after them. Sometimes you need to look at the other side of the coin. Kwyjibo Proud graduate of the Brokenjaw school for newbies Thanks to Sephiroth for the sigpic

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | Brintney allow me to appologize about my reply from yesterday, when I read this it made me think about that cunt that cost me money because of her big flee bag. I also have a dog and a cat but the difference is I own my home and I have a well trained dog. Although I don't believe someone without a permanent home should own pets, I do at the same time understand what a difficult situation you are in. The person who said a note from your past land lord could make a world of difference is totally correct, I always ask for a reference when dealing with new tenants.
