He Teaches the youth in High School, College, and the Minors, that you should never skate with your head down, or bad things happen. | Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | I'm sorry, I thought checking forwards was Stevens job. My bad. He should be mucking it up and getting into fights to prove his manliness. I was unaware of that. And here I thought attempting to intimidate teams with some big hits and trying to push around forwards like Francis was Stevens job. As to intentionally injuring people, I dont think Stevens is overly concerned about hurting someone. If they're stupid enough to skate across the blue line with their head down, they're pretty much asking for a concussion. Especially knowing how Stevens likes to use his shoulders. | ||||

But theres no way the Devils will be able to bully around teams like Buffalo or Philadelphia. They may beat those teams, but they wont bully them around because they will actually stand up for themselves. | ||||

He does not back down from anyone, he is just a smart player! If someone engages him, he does not back down. Carolina was gunning for him from the get go last night. Plus that was a totally legal hit and Francis is no Gretzky or Lemieux (even though Lemieux could take care of himself if he needed to) he should know that when ur playin against a guy who exlpodes in the post season, that u pay attention to whats goin on around u and dont skate around with ur head down. His job, as a defenceman, is to neutralize the opposing teams offensive weapons. If you noticed, Shane Willis got off a few scoring chances agains Brodeur in game 2, so at the end of that game, when Stevens laid "The Hit" on him, he was telling him pay attention and that he would be watching him. Stevens does his job better than anyone. And no one will ever be a nasty, cheap, or hated as the Broad Street Bullies of the 70's. They have a special spot in hell reserved for them.
