| Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 01  | If SNL can't make a five minute bit funny (mainly because it should have only been a 2 1/2 minute bit!), what the hell makes them think a movie-length bit we be even remotely amusing? Now, I love dumb-ass comedy (see Better off Dead; National Lampoon's Vacation "I'm the best kisser in the town . . . my dad told me so"), but there's but so many times you can see those idiot brothers bopping their heads to that dumb ass song!!! Wayne's World obviously excluded. You think Britney Spears could such a marble through a straw? | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Yeah Lorane Michael's has produced some pretty bad movies but what does that have to do with Joe Dirt? This is not an "SNL" movie. But I do agree with you guys the movie will probably blow and there have been a lot of bad movies but you forgot "SuperStar". | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | Superstar was mentioned and I saw it and it totally totally sucked. That was part of Operation Take As Many Modern Sketches Into Movie including that, Night at the Roxbury and Ladies Man. Ladies Man was probably the worst of those movies because aside from plainly sucking, DEEP HURTING DEEEEEEEEP HURTING, it (hear me out) had potential. Ladies Man was a somewhat funny skit and if they didn't feel the need to follow the awful "Bachelor Guy Falls In Love and Becomes Married Guy" formula and made it a throwback to Blaxploitation flicks something could have been done. Nothing good could have come from Superstar or Roxbury unless one of the Roxbury duo was killed at the beginning and the rest of the movie was the second one going on a one man personal crusade to avenge the death of his brother brining death and destruction to whomever crosses his path. I can't think of a way that Superstar could have made a totally good movie unless they made it a parody of religion which would be too above them...that or rape. Remember how much we feared a Spartan movie? | ||||
