Even though i may disagree with him deleting the pic i understand now better. Now yes aaliyah to me is nothing more than a singer who i didnt care much for. But for me james dean was an idol since i was 8 and i always am a little saddened by his death. A split second decided his fate forever at 24 he was gone, because some fuck in a ford didn't use his left turn signal or wait for the right of way. Plus i saw a montage for aaliyah on MTV and when it said 1979 - 2001 i was like wow i was born 1978 and i am 1 year older than her. It was like someone who had accomplished 100 times more in her short life than any of us probably ever will is dead. She didn't deserve this while scumbags roam the earth it kinda hits you. especially when at my age and jeffs age we are searching for something to be someone and she was there and she was snuffed out. For example off the top of my head if brad pitt died in a plane crash i'dbe very upset. I am a huge fan of his. And if someone did a sig i may in the heat of passion on my emotions delete it now i mean a strong MAYBE probably not but i would be upset. Now froy as a springsteen fan i doubt first off anyone would do a sig about him cause people have more respect for him. To many aaliyah was a singer no one cared much for like myself but you have to understand the situation. Jeff acted on an emotion the guys working his ass off for this board i say we can forgive him for one mistake. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Debating points doesn't mean we disrespect you, Jeff. Some happened to disagree with your action. Maybe one day you'll, and ourselves, will be on the opposite ends and see it differently. However, no matter how we feel, as MODS, we should try to stay away from censoring stuff based on how we feel, and look for a mod consensus. Maybe a post back here on how you felt, or an IM to other mods around that eve. Or perhaps communicate it to Froy, who is always there to foil such stuff. What we don't want to do is have one mod saying one thing, and another doing or saying another...as Gonzo said in another thread, communication is key.  | ||||
