Every time they mentioned her father's name they called him by his full name "Allan York".. When Bauer's wife got the call and that skirt from Jacks's work said the guys name, "Alan York" she got all pastey and scared. She knows the guy she's with is the bad guy becuase she put 2 and 2 together (4). The guy tells her he's Alan York for the last 5 hours. + Alan York ends up dead = He's not really Alan York, and since Alan York has been murdered, then the guy pretending to be Alan York might be a shady character. How could they make sure that the friend they picked to lead them to Kim would be one who her parents didn't know already? ----------------------------------------- Crippled but free I was blind all the time I was learning to see

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I finally saw Tuesday's episode this afternoon and this show is definitely awesome, one of the best on TV and the best of the new season. I'm happy FOX decided to pick it up for a full season. the show is fucking intense. "It appears my wee wee has been strucken with rigor mortis."

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | quote: You're joking right? It's not like there was even an option here. The show is called "24" so inherently, there should be somewhere around, what, 24 episodes, right? I don't think the lure of the show would have worked if they called it "6", or 1/2 day This message was edited by OAAWITE on 2-27-02 @ 12:33 AM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I am such an asshole. I started reading this thread before I watched the actual episode and found out the guy in the trunk was the girls father, totally ruined what would have been a great episode. This is one of the greatest televisions programs I have ever watched. If Fox was smart they would run a mini-marathon of the previous episodes for people who haven't started watching the show yet because you definately need to see them all. The next episode is January 8, in two weeks.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | Well the ratings weren't as good as they hoped and they debated cancelling it like networks do. Luckily they picked it up and it got 2 Golde Globes noms which is doubly cool "It appears my wee wee has been strucken with rigor mortis."

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | 24 is a great show that has gone up against some stiff competition in the 9:00 hour. Personally I think this show has made up for every bad movie Kieer Sutherland has ever made..I kind of saw the swerve coming with Allan York but the interaction with David Palmer and his family has been great. She should have really died to make the show better. "That's what we're paid for, boys. We're gonna take care of this. We're going to find out who did this. Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: There is no way that Jack Bauer would have killed her. It's not in his character-it would have been dishonest. Besides, it's a mainstream show-Jack wouldn't be allowed to kill a partner because that would confuse the simplistic "good vs evil" type viewer. I liked the ep, even though I had the kevlar thing figured out. AIM:isdononthephone

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | The episode had the only two cheesy things in seven episodes With all the things that this head bad guy has riding on this situation and the two people he had following Bauer, don't you think that they would have gone and made sure that was actually dead. The second is how these terrorists have cameras aparantly everywhere in the world that are also connected by some tiny sattelite uplink with perfect graphics, and have no lag. It's especially unbelievable that they have ones in that government facility. Granted there are some bad guys on the inside, but you figure the good guys would sweep for bugs, cameras, and such. I can't think of a better suspense show on TV ever made. Great great show otherwise.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I also feel asleep last night during the show.In todays daily news there was an article on the show.Check it out.............. [quote ]Let's talk numbers, specifically the numbers associated with Fox's exciting freshman series "24," which airs Tuesdays and is rerunning Friday nights at 9. The key numbers to consider are 13, 11, 66, 106 and 9,362,000. Thirteen, for example, was the initial number of episodes ordered by Fox before the Kiefer Sutherland spy series launched in the fall. Kiefer Sutherland and '24' may have the legs to make it through the day. Even though the show's original concept was to devote an hour, in real time, to one 24-hour day in the life of a harried hero, Fox initially refused to make a similarly expansive commitment. Executives put in a standard order for 13 episodes; even when badgered at a press conference in July by TV critics who loved the pilot, Fox wouldn't promise to unspool the entire series in real time. In other words, there was a real danger, early on, that "24" would end up being little more than half that. Had the show tanked quickly in the ratings, the producers would have been ordered to wrap up their continuing story much sooner — or, worse, end the series with an unresolved cliffhanger. This is where 66 comes in, because that's the average ranking, according to Nielsen Media Research, for the Tuesday telecasts of "24" so far this season. The show is seen in slightly more than 6 million TV households weekly, which puts it just ahead of such prime-time series as "Citizen Baines" and "Bob Patterson" (which haven't survived) and "The X-Files" (which has). The folks at Fox, though, were concerned about that No. 66 ranking, so they pulled an even lower-ranked series, Friday night's "Pasadena" (ranked 114th out of 157 shows), and began putting same-week reruns of "24" in its place. Those reruns, for the season, have been ranked No. 106 — a slight improvement over "Pasadena," but serving two important purposes. It gave viewers a second chance to catch "24" and stay on board with the complex, serialized story. Even more important, it exposed the series each week in an additional 3.3 million TV households. Add those two weekly audiences together, in the cable TV model of a cumulative audience, and "24" is drawing enough viewers this season — the aforementioned 9,362,000 TV households — to rank it just one notch beneath Nielsen's Top 25. That makes "24" the most-viewed series on Fox. ("Boston Public," with only one weekly telecast, ranks 35th.) All these numerals, put together, are why Fox has embraced the final number, 11, and ordered that many additional episodes of "24." That's great news, because presumably now we'll see, before this season is over, the complete run of this ambitious series as it was envisioned. Whether it ends in glory or diffuses in disarray, at least it will be a long, full ride — destined, perhaps, to take its place alongside the summer 1968 series "The Prisoner," the first two arcs of "Wiseguy" in 1987-88, and the first season of "Murder One" in 1995. Ambitious, extended-narrative series of this type can go on too long ("Twin Peaks") or be cut off by the network far too soon ("EZ Streets"). By earning a full-season production order, "24" may add up to be just right. Boy fox was thinking maybe to end the series before having all 24 episodes...Boy that would have sucked.Glad to see their sticking with it even though it's low rated on Tuesdays.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | The Tick was cancelled as well and I knew that this show was endangered of being cancelled for awhile and am happy it's lasting the full season. I do like the Murder One analogy (great show, another 'full series' I saw) which is what I was thinking about this show. It's a perfect one season show but having another season might ruin it. I sure did.The only problem i had with it was when Jack was going through the security check and they were checking the laptop computer, why didn't the guard ask Jack to take it out of the briefcase? I mean he had to open it and turn the laptop on but anything could have been underneath it.And of course that's were the gun was.

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | The whole plot twist thing is the greatest part of this show. I actually was wondering of his wife and kid would get killed. You really don't know who is safe. literally ANY thing could happen. My prediction for what happens is that guy who supposedly got killed and gave Jack the key card is not really dead, and is one of the bad guys (if you remember, he said that spanish chick was the only one Jack could trust) This message was edited by OAAWITE on 2-27-02 @ 12:33 AM
