i did not know my figures I wanted to know revenue and how much each team spent on their teams for Florida and Oakland. One is a powerhouse and one does not give a shit that they even have a team.

The reason this is a good idea has little to do with which teams they pick -
The biggest reason to do this is to undo over-expansion. This would (hopefully) increase the quality of the talent throughout the league.
That is why relocation is not the answer.

Montreal is a failed experiment. Olympic Stadium may be the worst stadium in baseball, and nobody in Quebec cares for the Expos.

Tampa should be the other team to fold, except I believe they have too many years left on their stadium lease to buy out.

The Twins should not be a contracted team; they have a pretty good history and they have shown fans will come out if the team is good. They play in a poor stadium, and their owner wants to sell, but can't find a taker at his price.

According to Selig, there was some support to contract 4 teams. It wont happen, but it wouldn't be so bad.

You guys don't realize that I'm the second most knowledgable poster in the Sports Forum. But you SHOULD know I'm the Oakland expert around here... :)

The A's spent around $35 million, in the bottom five. Their success is entirely based on amazing scouting and GMs (like it was in the late '80s). Florida was also way down in payroll, but they have NO attendance (A's passed 2 million for the first time in a while).

I'm hoping the Minnesota thing, and perhaps all contraction, is leverage against the Players Association. This issue is intertwined with the labor negotiations, and that could go any number of ways. Many things piss me off about Selig's current plan, but this post is too long already.
