| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | I'm in the league and I agree that 20 may be too many - I say we close it up at say 16 or 18 since you need to have an even number of teams. A 20 Team draft will take forever and will make the league kind of boring during the season since there won't be much quality talent out there to pick-up. Just my opinion, it's your league so if that's what you want I'm cool with it. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | I've emailed all the owners in the league, as well as posting a note on the league page, asking for each owner's opinion on having 20 teams. I would prefer to have 20 teams, as explained in earlier posts, to make the league challenging and more realistic, but I am open to other opinions. We have 15 teams as I write this. Let me know whether you want to have 16, 18 or 20 teams and why. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | I'm all for 20, but 16 would be fine too, it would just suck if we ended up with an odd number of teams, so how about if a week or two before the draft if there aren't 20 teams, contracting down to 16 or 18 (assuming there are this many)..btw what would happen if it ends up an odd amount of teams? | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | An update on the number of teams situation: I still haven't heard from several teams yet, so I haven't made a decision. Right now, leaving the league at 20 is slightly in the lead, so there's no need for a change yet. However, nobody's joined the league in a few days, so we still have 15 teams. We'll see if bringing this thread back to the top brings any new league members. | ||||

VOS IS ABOUT AS FUNNY AS GETTING A PAPERCUT ACROSS THE TIP OF YOUR MULE AND THEN DIPPING IT IN LEMON JUICE!!!! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Now that we have a 16th team, I've decided that 16 is enough. The total number of players drafted will be slightly more than half of major league baseball, so all participants will have to have a good knowledge of each Major League team's roster. The draft will take long enough as it is with 16 teams, so I thought it was right to limit the league to 16 teams, despite the fact that the vote was dead even. Of the nine responses I received, 3 wanted 20 teams, 3 wanted 16 or 18, and 3 didn't care either way. The key to minimzing the length of the draft will be preparation and paying attention to what's going on. I'll provide more information as we get closer to draft day. | ||||

P.S.-I've only heard from 5 owners regarding the UT/DL situation, so I've not made a decision whether or not to change the settings. | ||||

I have 4 utility players, 3 bench players, 1 dl, and 4 extra pitchers. I have a total of 23 guys on each team and 15 teams. Everyone in the league seems happy with it. Just thought I could help.  | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Well, another owner dropped out of the league, reopening a slot for a 16th team. The previous opening was filled, but now we are back to 15 teams. Remember, the draft is just 6 days away. I'm positive we'll have no problem filling the slot from outside of this message board if necessary, but I think we'd all prefer to have mainly O&A posters populating this league. As far as the UT/DH question is concerned, I still have only 5 responses (and only 2 to change to 3UT & 3DL), so there's no consensus to change the current lineup structure. | Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | 3 DAYS UNTIL DRAFT DAY Just some notes before draft day: 1.-The draft order will be randomized. You will be able to see the draft order the day of the draft by going to the league overview page Visit this Website, then selecting Draft Results in the League Info section. 2.- You will also be able to see the draft order once the draft room opens, which is usually 30-60 minutes before the draft is scheduled to begin. It is strongly recommended that you read the following information on how an online draft is run: Visit this Website YOU MUST HAVE A JAVA-ENABLED BROWSER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DRAFT It is recommended that you look at the Yahoo pre-rankings and adjust them to your liking. You can get there by going to the League Overview page and choosing My Team, then Edit Pre-Rankings. You can change the order or eliminate players altogether. These rankings will be used if, for any reason, you miss any part of the draft, or if your computer crashes during the draft. To minimize the length of the draft, once you get to the draft room you should use the queue to rank the players you would like to pick next. For instance, if you're picking 5th, it would be helpful if you take your first 5 possible choices and put them in the queue in the order that you would take them. You should continue using this queue throughout the draft, as you'll have plenty of time between picks to decide who you might want to choose next. If one of the players in the queue is chosen by another team, that player will automatically be deleted from the queue. You will be able to change the order of players in the queue by selecting a player and using the up or down arrow. The order of the players in the queue supercedes the order of the Yahoo or customized pre-rankings. Using the queue and the autopick feature (which makes the pick for you by quickly choosing the 1st player listed in your queue) will shave a lot of time off the length of the draft (90 seconds each time it is used). If we all take 90 seconds to make each pick, we'll be spending much too much of Saturday night together. REMEMBER - The draft starts at 3:40 PM SAT. MARCH 30TH - YOU SHOULD BE IN THE DRAFT ROOM AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DRAFT TIME See you Saturday! We still need 1 team, but we can always grab somebody off of the Fantasy Baseball message boards to fill a slot, if necessary. | ||||
