Then Clemens throws the end of the bat at Piazza and no retaliation, then the fiasco in St. Louis this weekend and no retaliation. Then Payton gets beened AGAIN and no retaliation. Now 5 fucking home runs in the last two innings to blow this game for Appier and Benitez does not put one in someones ear??????? What a bunch of PUSSIES. I said ah-pu-sa. The Bullpen Rooooned it Tonight! A Sweep would have been nice. Im also dissapointed that Arizona skipped a starter and Randy Johnson isnt going to pitch on Friday against the Mets. I would have liked to see the Mets rock him again. | ||||

Did they think that they were pitching at Enron Field? This is Shea, where you really have to hit one in order to get it out. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Trachsel really didnt pitch THAT bad. On a normal day that Gonzalez foul ball would have stayed in play and they would have been out of the inning. He gave up 4 runs, thats about what you would expect from your #5 starter. You cant really expect to win when the pitching matchup is Trachsel vs. Schilling. It was Tom Martin who really blew this game, as he earned a plane ticket back to Norfolk with his great performance. | ||||

The best mets website out there is metsonline.net they have tons of info but the best part is the rumor mill section. it kind of like speculating over professional wrestling. i have been going ther for a while. this was the most recent rumor. 5/6 ESPN.com reports that the Mets have made it clear that outfielder Jay Payton is available for a left-handed power bat. The Mets have shown interest in first basemen Jason Giambi of the Oakland Athletics and Tony Clark of the Detroit Tigers, with the intent of replacing Payton in center field with top prospect Alex Escobar. Right now, the mets have to be more concerned about playing in Coors Field the next couple of nights. Maybe this is where we turn our season around.
