O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | THIS JUST IN: Randy Johnson has stiffness in his back and will not make the start tomorrow night against the Mets Im a little dissapointed, i was looking forward to the challenge especially with the way the Mets have been hitting lately, but I will take the break. a 3 game series in Arizona with no Johnson or Schilling, and they will probably both pitch against Montreal this weekend, even better. Things are looking very bright right now in Met Land. Alomar is starting to hit, and as long as this team stays healthy, We may not only win the NL east, we may run away with it. But I dont want to get too far ahead yet.

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Randy Johnson is missing his start tonight. Don't know why, i just heard it on the FAN, and that Stottylemeyer (however the hell you spell it) will move up one day and pitch tonight with tomorrow's pitcher undecided, and it could very well be Johnson. Alomar and Vaughn are looking good, aren't they. Oh yeah, and that Piazza guy's ok, too. 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with a passion 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 4. Mets win World Series 5. Hopefully come up with a better name for the Crack Commitee than something the Mad Dog came up with. Come on!

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Nice! No Big Unit. Even though we do well against him I would much rather face Stottlemyre than him. Mets Notebook: 5/1 Great news for the Mets, as the Diamondbacks announced late last night that three-time Cy Young Award winner Randy Johnson would be unable to make his scheduled start tonight due to a lower back strain. Instead, Steve Trachsel will face off against Todd Stottlemyre, while Shawn Estes gets Miguel Batista as a mound opponent Thursday night. 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with a passion 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 4. Mets win World Series 5. Have Red Sox finish 10 games infront of the Yankees. Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | If anybody's wondering, the problem with Johnson is he's got a lower back problem. Man, hopefully it's just a minor thing, it would suck to have a year that is shaping to be maybe one to remember for years to come ruined by a lingering injury like that. 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Diamond Dust, true what you said, but the Mets would run into the 'D Backs along the way during the playoffs. Schilling would be hard enough to beat let alone Johnson. So I'm hoping this injury puts them in bad position for the playoffs, and it hurts Johnson the rest of the year. Rusty, join the Crack Committee. Copy the Words that Diamond dust has at the bottom of his post and put it in your signature under your profile. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | Another solid win, That's 6 straight. Trachsel's still a homo, but luckily he pitched with a big lead all night. And despite all the walks, he got the outs when he needed them. Can't really complain. On a side note, I really hope some kid swimming in that pool takes a baseball to the head and dies floating in a pool of his own blood.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: Rumor has it that Johnson got some tooling by Rockies in last start, so when D-Backs had lead late Brenly tried to take him out, and Johnson refused. He went on to strike out 17(?), but went over normal pitch count and wound up sore. probably only miss one turn. D-Backs have been awful when Johnson or Schilling not pitching, but I'll take wins where we can get them. Nice to see hitting pick up, even if it mostly comes in bunches. To date biggest surprise seems to be bullpen. Mets pen has been outstanding. I heard Valentine's WFAN interview Real audio - WFAN & Valentine May 1 and he said a couple of interesting things - Mets pen helping because starters feel they can go all out for 5+ and pen will pick them up, and Braves may use Surhoff money to pick up reliever and move Smoltz to starting staff. 2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2.
